Da Nang City, a rising star in Vietnam’s tourism sector, showcased its unique offerings at the South Asia Travel and Tourism Expo (SATTE) 2025 in Greater Noida, India. Held from February 19 to 21, the event attracted over 50,000 attendees, featuring 1,800 exhibitors and more than 1,000 buyers from across 120 countries.
Focus on Key Tourism Sectors

Huynh Thi Huong Lan, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Center, emphasized the city’s strategic focus on promoting MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions), golf, and wedding tourism. These sectors are seen as critical to driving international visitor numbers and enhancing Da Nang’s reputation as a premier travel destination.
During the expo, Da Nang’s tourism authorities and businesses engaged attendees with various cultural activities. Highlights included performances of traditional ao dai, Vietnamese coffee tasting experiences, and the distribution of local souvenirs, all designed to leave a lasting impression on potential buyers.
Strengthening International Connections

In an effort to bolster its tourism appeal, Da Nang is actively forging partnerships with airlines to establish direct flights between India and the coastal city. This initiative aims to facilitate easier access for Indian tourists who have demonstrated a growing interest in visiting Vietnam post-COVID-19.
Officials from Da Nang also met with representatives from wedding tourism organizations and event planners to launch the Da Nang Wedding Tourism 2025 program. The city has become a hotspot for extravagant weddings, particularly among ultra-wealthy Indians seeking picturesque venues for their celebrations.
Growing Indian Tourist Market

India has emerged as one of the fastest-growing markets for tourism in Vietnam. Post-pandemic recovery has seen a significant influx of Indian visitors to Da Nang, which currently ranks fourth among the top ten international source markets for the city’s tourism industry.
Last year, Da Nang welcomed over 222,000 Indian tourists, accounting for 5.3 percent of all international arrivals. Notably, this figure represents nearly half of all Indian visitors to Vietnam during that period. The number of Indian tourists visiting Da Nang has surged by more than 13.5 times compared to the pre-pandemic peak in 2019.
Cultural Affinities Drive Tourism Growth
The growing preference for Vietnam among Indian travelers can be attributed to shared cultural traits and values. As a result, many Indian tourists prioritize Da Nang as a key destination in their travel plans. Notable corporations have recognized this trend; in 2024, a major textile company from India organized a trip for its employees to experience the charm of Da Nang.
Despite the absence of resumed direct flights from major Indian cities to Da Nang, the city continues to be seen as an unmissable stop on any itinerary through Vietnam. With ongoing efforts to enhance connectivity and promote its diverse tourism products, Da Nang is well-positioned to attract even more visitors from India and beyond.
